What is Physiotherapy?
'Physio' in its purest form is the study of physiology. Physiotherapy
is an in depth study of the body's anatomy, physiology and
all of the detailed components required in normal movement.
Combined with a sound knowledge of pathology a physiotherapist
can evaluate pain and dysfunction and determine how best to
resolve it.
Physiotherapy combines medical knowledge with a natural approach.
A physiotherapist's essential tools are knowledge, problem
solving and communication skills and also therapeutic hands.
It is an established and evolving profession.
Chartered physiotherapists are governed by a professional
body, this is to ensure that high standards of practice are
maintained. West End Physiotherapy specialises in the diagnosis,
treatment and rehabilitation of muscle, joint and soft tissue
trauma and pain.
