Knee pain as a result of a biomechanical foot imbalance

If your feet roll in (pronation) or roll out (supination) you are effectively trying to walk/run on an unstable base. These alterations in the alignment of the foot can also alter the alignment of the lower leg bone (tibia) in relation to the knee. The alignment of the knee joint and in particular of the kneecap (patella) can also be altered. Over time or with loaded stress as happens during sport, inflammation can gradually build up behind the kneecap. This is a common cause of insidious knee pain that commonly affects those who run regularly.
