Orthotics are prescribed where the foot
and/or the lower limb require realigning. Following a
podiatry assessment a prescription is determined and a
small insert is made from a plaster of paris mould of
your feet. The orthotics are then placed easily inside
of your shoes. In this way the insert tilts your foot
to its correct position providing you with the support
that you need. Although they look similar to arch supports
orthotics are both more supportive and comfortable because
they are 'tailor made' to your foot by a podiatric specialist.
Orthotics can help to resolve a variety
of foot and/or lower limb problems. Their individual design
is determined by your unique foot contours, your activity
level, occupation and the types of shoes that you wear.
We can provide you with state of the art orthotics.
2. Core Fitness Training
Most often foot and /or lower limb pain
is accompanied by muscle imbalances. If this is the case
you will need to retrain the affected muscles to work
properly. We can help you to retrain these muscles with
specialist one to one personal training. See Core
Fitness Training.
